Ok, so I know I’ve been taking a lot of dog pictures lately, but what can I say? They make for great subjects. They’re cute, they’re not self-conscious, and they don’t talk back. Pictured above is Zillah, taking a walk with her owner, Denver, on Bainbridge Island, WA.

Saw this little dude cruisin’ around Pioneer Square today. If the Westminster Dog Show gave out a prize for best dressed, this guy would win for sure. As a side note, I shot this picture with my new iPhone. I’ve never been impressed with phone cameras before, but with a little tweaking this bad boy actually pumps out some pretty interesting pics.

I opened my inbox this morning and and what did I find but this little guy staring back at me through the monitor. Not a bad start to the day until I realized that my parents have replaced me with a puppy. They said it was too quite in the house, so in my absence they have invited this Boston Terrier to take my spot as resident destroyer of household items and eater of food that has fallen on the floor (five seconds is totally legit). At first I was a bit mad, but come on, look at that face, and those paws. I haven’t been that cute since, well, never. If you break it down it’s probably an upgrade for them, but in my defense I’ve never pooped in the yard (never have never will, just a policy I have). Anyway, he doesn’t have a name yet. Might I suggest: Sir Snugglesworth of Wallingford. No? No I can’t? Ok point taken. If you have suggestions let me know and I’ll pass them on to my parents – that is if they even remember my name anymore.

It seems that North Korea and South Korea are once again entangled in a war of words. According to various news outlets this latest spat regards the trivial matter of who’s pointing high powered heat-seeking GPS-guided missiles at who. And while diplomats and government officials across the region scramble to smooth things over, I think I know the perfect moderator to help keep the peace. She’s 10 inches tall, weighs maybe 10 pounds soaking wet, and doesn’t speak any Korean – or any language for that matter. Her name is Birdie, and she’s my sister’s dog. Maybe I’m missing Seattle just a touch, or maybe this was just a good excuse to put up cute dog pictures, but either way, just look at that face. Go on. Look at it – square in the googly eyes. Those piqued ears; that tongue that’s way too big for it’s mouth. Did I mention she never barks, just snorts? I’m sorry but what were we fighting about again? Here are a few more pics… (more…)
